- Commercial Case Studies
Here at Droylsden Glass, we’re no strangers to New Build developments, having worked on many as part of our commercial installation work. We recently made the short journey from our Audenshaw base to Dukinfield, to work with some old friends on The Fairways.
Another successful project with our old friends, Bardsley Homes
Having worked with the developer responsible for this new-build project, Bardsley Homes, on many successful occasions previously, we have since become a preferred contractor of theirs – someone they can always rely to get the job done to the standard it needs to be. So, when they decided to switch from wooden windows to uPVC for the 42 semi-detached properties and townhouses at The Fairways, they got in touch to see if we could help them out.
Anthracite Grey on White uPVC windows with dummy sashes
The high-quality uPVC windows we fitted to this mixture of 2, 3, and 4-bed houses came with an Anthracite Grey exterior and astragal bars. We also used dummy sashes to improve the sightlines on each property, creating a fresh look whilst retaining the traditional charm that was in keeping with this development’s distinctive architectural style. The White internal finish ensured the interiors looked brighter too.
Overhead ventilation ensuring for Document F compliance
We also equipped each window with an overhead ventilation system, ensuring these properties were adequately ventilated and compliant with Approved Document F of Building Regulations. We also used laminated safety glazing where required to ensure Document N compliance, protecting future residents against potential glass breakages.
Anthracite Grey GRP composite doors
To match our Anthracite Grey windows, we fitted the front of each property with an Anthracite Grey composite door. Thanks to their GRP exteriors that resemble natural woodgrain and the stylish chrome furniture we fitted them with, each door brought heaps of visual appeal to each property. So future residents could move between the inside and outside of their new homes with ease, we also fitted with a Document M compliant, hardwearing aluminium low threshold.
As was the case with the windows, each composite door was specified to meet stringent Secured by Design standards, ensuring excellent protection from forced entry attempts for each property.
“Excellent communication, commitment and consistency”
Bardsley Homes were especially impressed by our level of interest and responsiveness, saying that “nothing seems to be too much trouble”. Their Commercial Director, Graeme Spencer, also said:
“The level of communication, commitment, and consistency are excellent, and of course the quality and visual appeal of the products are an integral part of our sales success.”
