Arrange a meeting at the Droylsden Glass showroom to discuss your home improvement plans.
Here at Droylsden Glass, we believe it’s our duty to protect your home from unwanted guests. So, when we fit one of our doors to your home, we make sure it’s equipped with the latest and greatest door locks and security hardware. In this section, you can find detailed information on the hardware we use and how they keep your home intruder-free!
Contact usFitted with pins of varying lengths, lock cylinders restrict access to those who have the correct key. However, they are regularly targeted for lock snapping, a common technique used by those looking to force their way into your home. You can protect yourself from this, however, by opting for cylinder locks that have been specially designed to resist lock snapping. Ultion locking cylinders can do this. In fact, they can still prevent entry to the home even if they end up being snapped twice!
Ultion locking cylinders are available to be fitted on our:

Contact usWe use multipoint locking systems on the vast majority of doors that we fit. For example, our range of uPVC doors come fitted with multipoint locks from Avantis. However, they’re very commonly used on windows too.
They are key-operated and, when the key is turned, multiple bolts will insert into the door frame, firmly securing the door sash to it. The major benefit of securing the door at multiple points instead of one is that it makes it much more difficult for a potential intruder to find a weak point on the door that they can exploit.
Contact usSmart locks are one of the latest developments in the door security market and with the addition of the Kubu Equipped Door Lock to our product range, we can now offer an affordable smart locking solution to our customers.
This advanced locking system is operated via a smartphone application. When using it, you can check if your door is unlocked, get notifications whenever someone uses your door and check its history. The Kubu smart lock also has a snazzy perimeter feature that will tell you if you’ve left the door unlocked once you’ve walked far enough from your home to disconnect your phone from your Wi-Fi – never worry about leaving your doors unlocked ever again!

Learn more about KubuA mortice deadlock is a key-operated lock and the most common lock type that you will find placed in a doorframe. When the key is turned, a deadbolt inserts from the door sash into the frame. Many home insurance companies will require you to have one fitted and the most secure form of them are 5 lever mortice locks.
Mortice deadlocks will often be paired with a night latch, a piece of locking hardware that secures the door when you close it behind you. As they secure the door behind you when closed, they allow you to leave the home without a key.
Contact usPAS24 accreditation is a minimum industry standard for enhanced security performance. Any doors with this accreditation have had their security credentials tested by an independent regulator. So, whenever you buy a PAS24 accredited door, you can be certain that it meets an agreed industry standard and, therefore, is up to the task of securing your home.
Get a free quoteSecured by Design (SBD) is a scheme run by the UK Police. It’s worth looking out for because any doors that have this accreditation have been tested to and passed the high-security standards demanded from this scheme. Therefore, Secured by Design accredited doors are some of the most secure you can find.

For this reason, they provide a good layer of defence for doors with sizable areas of glass. They are available as an optional extra on a range of our uPVC door options including uPVC entrance doors, uPVC patio doors and uPVC French doors.
Contact UsLaminated glass is made up of two or more layers of glass that are held together by an interlayer. It is much stronger than standard glass and when it is broken, the individual glass pieces are held together. For this reason, it might also be referred to as safety glass.
All our doors are fitted with toughened glass as standard. However, laminated glass is available on our bifold doors and patio doors, and French doors providing extra reinforcement to their large areas of high-quality double glazing.
