Converting old terraced houses into modern family homes called for the latest energy and security specifications from the new windows and doors.
The task of transforming these properties into twenty first century homes on Corrigan Street, Gorton, Manchester was awarded to Armitage Construction of Bredbury, but because of their long-standing relationship with Droylsden Glass they confidently contracted the company to take responsibility for the manufacture, supply and installation of all the windows and patio doors.
All the properties were completely ‘gutted’ and totally refurbished within this lateral conversion scheme, while a number were opened up and extended into larger family homes. In all the renovated properties, however, a major feature was the specification of new, energy and security conscious windows and doors.
Droylsden Glass manufactured, supplied and installed energy efficient PVCu frames and double glazed windows, along with sliding in-line patio doors at the rear of the houses. In addition the windows also incorporated the latest ‘Secure by Design’ specifications to provide extended security and safety features both to the glazing units themselves and also to the opening operation of the frames.
